Aphrodite Media and Aphrodite Books Acquire Emerald Eyes, Debut Novel by Caroline Langer, Ahead of September 15, 2026, Release
Women-led media company expands publishing slate with a powerful new voice.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NEW YORK, NY — May 4, 2026 — Aphrodite Media, Inc., a women-led media company, today announced that its publishing imprint, Aphrodite Books, has acquired Emerald Eyes, the debut novel by Caroline Langer. The book is scheduled for release on September 15, 2026, and is now available for preorder.
A percentage of proceeds from Emerald Eyes will support initiatives through Aphrodite Gives, the company’s philanthropic arm advancing community development, education, and creative ownership for women and girls.
Spanning generations from 1913 to 1987, Emerald Eyes traces the legacy of the D’Agata family, focusing on the lives of Willow and her great-grandfather, Fortunato. Set in a lakeside mansion in Central Ohio—built to house four generations in both life and death—the novel explores identity, inheritance, bodily autonomy, and the complex emotional terrain of family life. Blending historical depth with contemporary resonance, it weaves a story of loss, resilience, love, and reinvention.
Early positioning places Emerald Eyes alongside works such as The Sicilian Inheritance and The Lost Summers of Newport, appealing to readers of multi-generational women’s fiction.
“We are proud to introduce Caroline Langer as an Aphrodite author,” said Rachael Eckles, founder and CEO of Aphrodite Media. “Emerald Eyes exemplifies the storytelling we champion—emotionally intelligent, culturally relevant, and grounded in the lived experiences of women. Caroline brings a rare combination of disciplined craft and sharp narrative instinct, rendering characters with both intimacy and universal resonance. At Aphrodite, our mission extends beyond publication: we partner with authors to build ownership, longevity, and meaningful impact through their work.”
As part of the acquisition, Eckles and her team will oversee the publishing process for Emerald Eyes. The novel will be developed within Aphrodite Media’s creator-centric publishing model, which emphasizes long-term economic participation for authors.

“From the outset, this team understood both the heart of Willow’s story and the vision I have for my work,” Langer said. “After years of searching, I found the right partner, development editor, and publisher at Aphrodite Books, where they have been deeply invested in empowering my author journey while honoring the integrity of the creative process and my voice.”
Emerald Eyes is now available for preorder ahead of its September release, offering readers the opportunity to support independent, women-led publishing and be among the first to experience one of the season’s anticipated debuts.
